Jesus, this song is 30 years old. For some perspective:
- When this came out in 1981, “30 years ago” was a time when rock ‘n’ roll hadn’t even come into being in the modern sense. So there’s not even a parallel to be drawn to bitching about longhairs still listening to Led Zepplin and Yes in 1981.
- When this song came out, most of the people I work with had not been born.
- When this song came out, I figured I’d graduate from high school and become a famous (or infamous) rock star.
Here’s the point. We’re old and hopefully not dead and hopefully smarter and hopefully have a little money lying around. And there are people who need our help. Colleen is trying to raise $50,000 for WriteGirl by her 50th birthday.

Or you can buy an “Old.” shirt from the Mule Feed Store (Get it?! Because you’re old!) for $25, $50, or $100. All proceeds go toward helping Colleen meet her goal.
