I learned about Andy Palacio just before he died, which was not too long after this album came out. This album is a group effort pulled together by Palacio with the Garifuna Collective, a group of musicians of Garifuna heritage. The whole album is remarkable, but this song in particular just goes right into me. I don’t speak Garifuna, but the melody and the guitars and the singing are plenty eloquent.
